| In 2002, Lincoln Electric
Cooperative, along with InterBel Telephone Cooperative formed
Eureka Rural Development Partners, Inc. (ERDP) to build economic
opportunity for the Tobacco Valley and surrounding communities.
ERDP's mission is to strengthen the Tobacco Valley
rural community through working partnerships.

ERDP will accomplish this mission by:
- Creating
business development and employment opportunities.
- Bringing
together people and organizations to solve local problems
and meet local needs, and
- Building
the strength of the partnership.
Eureka Rural Development
Partners objectives are to:

Promote
quality job creation and remain dedicated to the expansion
and diversification of the economic base of the Tobacco
Valley and the surrounding communities.

Foster
the creation of working relationships among federal, state
and local governments, private profit and non-profit
organizations to facilitate cooperation and undertake a
strategic approach to rural development efforts within the
Tobacco Valley and its surrounding communities.

Encourage
and support innovative approaches to rural development and
the more effective resolution of rural development issues.

Create
and maintain a cooperative local framework to add to County
Economic Development Councils and the National Rural
Development Partnership.
