for Line Extension - Cost Summary for Residential,
Commercial/Industrial

property where the service is to be located. You can find this description on your tax notice or
warranty deed.
5.

application.
6.
Schedule a
visit to our office in Eureka.
If you
are unable to schedule an office visit, you may mail the
application and engineering
deposit to our office, but please include the
name of the person who we should contact to schedule a site
visit to the property.
If you're in need of a new
service, or need to increase the capacity of your existing
service equipment, you'll need to contact Lincoln Electric
Cooperative's engineering
department. They
will help guide you through the process
of applying for new construction or an upgrade/relocation.
If you are unsure about what size of service you will need, it
would be best to contact an electrician. Before you contact one,
it would be handy to have information about your project, such
as type of heating system, size of house, and other applicable
information.
It is not uncommon for the
member to be faced with charges for the installation of a new
service or upgrade. The
charges vary depending on the type, length and nature of the
project. The
cooperative may contribute a set amount toward the installation of a new service according to our
Line Extension Policy,
and any additional amount is then the responsibility of the
member.
In addition, clearing of the
power line corridor is the responsibility of the member. For an overhead power line, the corridor width is 30 feet. For underground power lines it is 15 feet. The corridor needs to be free of trees and debris
ground-to-sky, prior to power line construction. This will be
explained more fully during the field appointment and once
the route of power line is determined.
